Avoiding TPLO Surgery Repairs

Bulldogs have no idea they are not supposed to jump. They do it anyway. Over the years they can wear down their joints and their weight can cause that to happen fast. They can slip or fall off of the narrow plastic steps that most stores have for lighter more agile dogs. That is why it’s a good idea to enlist a handyman to build your pup a set of steps that are carpeted for your bed or couch. It does make all the difference. If you’ve ever priced a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery it’s upwards of $5000 or more. If you’ve ever tried to say NO to your bulldog when they want to sit where you sit or lay where you lay you’ll understand how hard it is to deny them anything. If you can train them not to be up on your bed or couch please let me know how you did it because I’m completely in awe of you!! hahahah. That begging face does me in every time. So I had a few sets made. It wasn’t all that expensive compared to the cost of these surgeries and completely worth it. They need to be wide and deep steps so they can get good footing and don’t ever slip. Most handymen can build a set. Just call around and get a price and use a commercial carpet runner for them so that it looks nice in your living room. My pups love theirs! I love that it saves their knees.
