Deaf Bulldogs...

Here’s a testimonial from a friend of mine who owns a deaf bulldog. They are normal in every way but one. They don’t know that they are different and like Mary says, it’s hardly an issue at all. White animals are more prone to hearing issues. So don’t despair if your baby can’t hear, they’ll still be just as lovable and wonderful!

Bentley is two years old and is deaf, but we hardly notice. We just taught him hand signals. We have to go to him and touch him to get his attention sometimes but we find that he actually watches us because he always wants to be with us, so getting his attention isn’t hard. We love him to pieces. He sleeps between us on the bed. And he gets along great with other dogs. We take him to daycare and they say he loves to play with other dogs. This photo is him playing in the pool. He goes to a kennel that is part of a Veterinary clinic, and they take excellent care of him. We also have 2 bigger dogs and he loves them too. I will also add that he’s very healthy. He’s just deaf and that’s not an issue for us. We are protective of him, so he’s never out of our sight, except for daycare, but they do a great job with him. We send him to daycare to socialize with other humans and other dogs, so he’s not shy or mistrusting. He’s very friendly and loving.
