Specialty Dog Food Stores
Dog food is a very personal issue. There are different issues in different pups that require solutions that can be found in their food. My advise to you is to go to a specialty dog food store and talk to the gurus there. Look for a food that addresses the issues in your bulldog. Go to a place like Wag N Wash or Chuck and Dons and tell the trained sales professional about your bulldog and his or her special needs. They can recommend a food that will address any issues and help make your baby’s life easier. I feed my adults a diet I make myself. It’s not for everyone but it works for me. Commercial foods can be a great alternative to homemade food and there are some raw foods being marketed now through Petsmart and other specialty stores that are excellent too and you don’t have to make it yourself. It costs more but I’ve always found that you get what you’re willing to give. I want a long healthy life for my dogs. It’s important to note that puppies and dogs under a year cannot have a raw diet because of the potential bacteria in the uncooked food. Wait until your puppy is a year old so their immune system is more mature before starting a raw diet for them. Talk to your vet or food specialist if you are concerned about your dog’s diet.
